Analysis of Wear Condition of Cylinder Liner

Cylinder Liner wear inspection can be checked visually, but it cannot be judged visually with a micrometer. The wear and tear judgment has the following situations:
It can continue to be used without replacing the Cylinder Liner. The maximum dimension of a single small scratch area is smaller than the opening gap of the piston ring. This kind of scratch is not serious, and there will be no blow-by gas, and there is no need to replace the cylinder liner; the macroscopic photo of the scratch has no burr, no trace of blow-by gas, and it is not necessary to replace the cylinder sleeve; dense scratches caused by carbon deposits, but the honing pattern still exists, and there is no need to replace the cylinder liner; there are many dense and clearly visible deep scratch lines in the scratch area. The minimum distance between such scratches must not be less than 10 times the width of the scratches, and the cylinder liner does not need to be replaced.

There is no need to replace the Cylinder Liner, and it can continue to be used after re-honing. Wide marks caused by lubrication problems, or an increased number of scratches, risk breaking the lubricating oil film and requiring re-honing of the cylinder liner.
The cylinder liner must be replaced. The traces caused by the roundness of the piston ring, due to the overheating of the cylinder, the direct contact between the piston ring and the cylinder liner, there is no lubricating oil film, the cylinder liner needs to be replaced; the serious and wide traces of the damaged lubricating oil film, the cylinder liner should be replaced.
Replace Cylinder Liner and piston rings. Since metal chips enter the cylinder liner through the lubricating oil hole of the cylinder, the cylinder wall and piston ring are severely worn, and the cylinder liner and piston ring need to be replaced at the same time.
Dimensional inspection. Measure the inner diameter of the Cylinder Liner with a cylinder bore tester. If any item of the inner diameter, ovality, and protrusion of the cylinder liner reaches the scrap size value, the cylinder liner is scrapped.
